THE ASSOCIATION OF ACADEMIC INFORMATION SPECIALISTS (INA) was established in 1965 as a labor union for information specialists, librarians and other experts working in the field of library & information services. INA acts as a trustee for the academic library & information staff working at the universities, research institutions and other scientific libraries.
INA aims to ensure that the pay corresponds to the demands of the work and education required. In addition INA monitors its member’s professional and social interests. Undergraduate students are also welcome to join the association. There are currently approximately 650 members in the INA.
